Rocks, Sand "Sledding hill?" (paint daubs)
This set was taken at a rock quarry near a woods I enjoy visiting (I promise I didn't trespass). It's a place I used to visit with my dad a lot when I was younger, so it holds a lot of nostalgia for me. I also like how the trees are still growing around it, creating some artificial cliffs. It has lines running down the side where water trickles down, which creates an interesting texture on the cliff. it was also very hard to get pictures without including the various vehicles in the quarry.

Resilient Fallen (underpainting)
This set was taken at Stinchfield woods, which is the same forest as the previous set, just on the other side. I was going to take pictures at an observatory (before finding out it was closed), and I found an interesting collection of fallen branches. I stopped and took a few pictures, practicing focusing on different parts of the picture. I would've taken more if not for the ridiculous amount of mosquitos.

Fairy Ring Non-dairy Ring (angled strokes)
This set was taken near the previous set, because I noticed a very large fairy ring. I'd never seen one before, so I jumped at the opportunity to take pictures of it. Still being eaten by mosquitoes, I ran around, taking as many pictures as I could. I found it very difficult to capture the whole ring at once, so I had to focus on segments.

Tree Line Skyline (crosshatch+dry brush)
I took this set at a park near my house, which is coincidentally right across the street from my childhood home. I decided it would be a good place to take some pictures, and I really enjoyed how the trees completely stopped at the field. It created an interesting line, which I thought would be good to implement elements of balance into my photos. It was taken in the evening, so the sky has a bit of a purple glow to it.

Leaving The Snail's View (diffuse glow+smudge stick)
This set was taken at the same forest as the last one, but further into the woods, instead of on the edge. The ground was covered in vines and ivy, and the undergrowth was thick. I think it created a feeling of aimlessness, and it's hard to get a good sense of what you're looking at other than greenery. With the second image, I appreciated how the tree bent backwards a bit as it went up, which made for an interesting perspective.
