Cornerstone Grate Letters
This area is a very sentimental place to me because it's a popular hang out place for me and my friends. It's behind the Ann Arbor art museum, and I spend a lot of time here. I find it funny that I never noticed the architecture until I went looking for it. I also felt the various sculptures were necessary for adding texture to the blank walls.

Steps Ramp Vent
This location was in a parking structure downtown, where I was skating with my friend. I noticed how there was a very oddly placed pillar in the middle of the road, and thought "that's an interesting architecture choice." It's clear where my mind went from there. I also noticed the very odd flat part, off to the left, that served no real purpose. I felt like it was close to capturing a liminal space, an area that just seems a bit off. I also like how the small locust leaves sprinkle the whole image with color.

Geometric Reflection Bar Graph
This set was taken on the other side of the Ann Arbor art museum. I really loved how geometric the structure was, with the way the window is placed into the wall. I thought it was interesting how the reflection of the building across the walkway has lines that almost follow the lines of the building, but not quite. I also love how the distant metal structure contrasts the plain tan wall in the foreground.

Brick wall Windows Archstone
This was a University of Michigan building that I could not name if I tried, but it has very nicely colored bricks. The windows were a great example of rhythm that I think benefits the overall photo. I also made a point to not shoot straight on with this one, and always shot at an angle. I felt like a straight on shot would be too empty. I also think the vines covering one side of the building creates a really nice contrast.

Pillars Illusion Graffiti
This set was taken in the same place as set 2, but the subject of the set is an entirely different building. This is one entrance of graffiti alley, and I loved how the pillars seem connected to the back wall from the graffiti despite being entirely separate. I also love how in the image "illusion," the brick wall in the background seems to warp directions, and it's hard to tell which way it's going. Lastly, I think the overhand of the roof into the pillars creates nice leading lines.
